In the winter transfer window, Atalanta was eager to sign Jordan James of Birmingham City, but they were unable to finalize a deal.
Calciomeracto said back in February that the Serie A team would make a move for the 19-year-old during the summer transfer window.
The Birmingham City star is the “first objective” for the upcoming campaign, per a recent report from Corriere dello Sport.
The report discusses “the Atalanta blitz” to sign James following their January failure to do so. He has been tracked by La Dea all year, and he might be their first signing in the upcoming window.

Following their relegation to League One, Rob Page, the manager of Wales, has previously hinted that the player may depart from Birmingham City.
According to the source, James is seen favorably by Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur due to his age, talent, and attributes. The Welsh player, who is valued at £10 million by the Blues, is being pursued by the Europa League winners.
Gazzetta dello Sport, via TuttoMercatoWeb, reported three days ago that the Italian team declined to recruit him in January because they thought Birmingham City’s €10 million (notice the double €) request was too exorbitant.
Tony D’Amico, the sporting director of the Atlanta Hawks, is “prepared to go back to the office to close the deal” for James. They also say that things might change in the upcoming window, but Corriere reports that Birmingham City values him at £10 million, so that isn’t the case.
