“I M LEAVING”: Domingo German just-announced that he is leaving the New York Yankees today after facing significant issue from the team….

Domingo German has shared details about the “dark” day from last season when he threw over furniture in the Yankees clubhouse.

German, who inked a contract with the Pirates during the offseason, initially provided his version of events in a NJ.com feature.

German disputes that his Yankees teammates’ suspicion that he was intoxicated during the incident—which led to his sentencing to rehab—was accurate.

German remarked, “I didn’t drink anything that day.” “I didn’t wake up incoherent the day after having a few beers the night before. On game day, I knew precisely what I was doing.

Still, he wasn’t proud of the circumstances.

German remarked, “That was a dark day for me.” “I was unable to manage my anger.”

German felt he could have pitched through the arm soreness that caused him to be pulled from the start the day before, which is allegedly when the trouble started.

After Jhony Brito (called up from Triple-A) had a bad performance and German entered the game in relief, pitching five scoreless innings, things took an even more odd turn.

German said that he had drank that evening to relieve some of his frustration.

The Yankees demoted pitcher Ron Marinaccio down to make room for Brito on the roster. A Yankees teammate reportedly challenged German the following day about disrespectfully playing loud music in Marinaccio’s vicinity while he was being sent to the minors the day before.

German replied to being approached and told he had been “disrespectful” to his teammate by shattering a TV and toppling a couch in the Yankees clubhouse.

“It was genuinely foolish circumstance,” German remarked. “That night, nobody informed me that I wasn’t pitching.” I didn’t receive any information. It was unrelated to Marinaccio. I feel horrible because I don’t behave that way toward my teammates. I don’t treat people badly. That’s what infuriated me. I felt like I was being treated disrespectfully and portrayed in that way.

Regarding the loud music before the event that destroyed the clubhouse, Marinaccio stated that he had nothing against German.

“I have no animosity toward Domingo at all,” Marinaccio said to the publication. “I don’t believe Domingo has to give me an apology for anything. He never made fun of me in public. Speaking with a few of the guys, I learned that Domingo had a meltdown the next day, but no one mentioned that he was making fun of me.

“I always support Domingo. As a colleague, I found Domingo to be consistently enjoyable. He laughed all the time. I had a great teammate in him.

German maintained that he did not have a drinking problem and that he was not intoxicated at the time of the incident.

German told NJ.com, “I drink when I want to drink, but I don’t have any problems.” “I can skip drinking for one or two months.

German gave an explanation for his decision to enter rehab last season, saying that if he hadn’t, the Yankees would have withheld the about $870,000 that remained on his $2.6 million salary.
