Kam Jones’ NBA dream took a big leap forward on draft night when the Indiana Pacers selected him with the 38th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. While Jones was celebrating, he received a heartfelt note from Dwyane Wade. The three-time NBA champion and Marquette icon sent a powerful video message to Jones, praising the young guard’s hard work and encouraging him for what lies ahead. Wade’s message was quite personal. He was right there on campus at Marquette, celebrating alongside the very team that helped shape Jones’ path.

Dwyane Wade, who also came through the Marquette program before being drafted No. 5 overall in 2003, made it a point to return to Milwaukee on draft night. As Jones heard his name called, Wade’s pride was evident in a video posted by Marquette’s social media team.

“I’m on campus right now. I’m with the team. We’re all thinking about you. We all cheered for you. We’re all rooting for you. Congratulations on getting drafted tonight,” Wade said. “Your dreams are starting to become true. There’s more work to do, but congratulations on where you’re at. It’s a start.”
