International media reacts to west ham united talented player display as player plays…..

Inaki Williams scored an injury-time winner to give the Black Stars a crucial victory in their first qualifier for the 2026 Fifa World Cup, in a rather underwhelming performance on Friday (17 November).

Chris Houghton’s men looked like they would be frustrated in Kumasi, with Melvin Adrien inspired in the opponent’s goal until Athletic Bilbao forward Williams powerfully headed in a cross from Gideon Mensah in the 96th minute.
West Ham man Kudus had chances to score for his country but couldn’t take them and after the match, GhanaScoccerNet (17 November) provided their reaction to his display, handing him a “6.5/10”,
Strived to help his team with several attempts but was unfortunate with his power and direction.”
When you’re a top-level footballer playing amongst the elite in Europe and you go back to play for your country, you’re certainly expected to be dishing out elite performances every time you put on the shirt.
However, Kudus failed to match those expectations on Friday night but he wasn’t the only one as Ghana lazed to a lacklustre 1-0 win over a team they were expected to wipe the floor with.

Coach Houghton had been under pressure heading into the game after some abject performances and while the win was crucial, the display may well have done little to convince the Ghanaian people about his capabilities at leading this team, especially in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.

West Ham United man Kudus will be hoping to put this display right when they take on Comoros on Tuesday (21 November) but it seems as though Houghton is struggling to get the best out of their star man so far during his tenure.

Regardless, Kudus remains a big-time player for both club and country and wherever he plays, he certainly possesses the capabilities to become a consistent and unbridled difference maker.

David Moyes will be desperate for more of those at the London Stadium when the Premier League resumes in a week’s time.
