Parramatta Eels

Worst nightmare: Just now The Parramatta eels’ CEO Jim Sarantinos pass away at….RIP

History will be made this Saturday when the Parramatta Eels NRLW play their first home game at Eric Tweedale Stadium (ETS) in Granville, as part of a partnership with Cumberland Council to drive greater integration with the Eels across Western Sydney.

Peter Fitzgerald, General Manager, said Cumberland Council was excited to host top-class NRLW at the new venue following a significant upgrade to the Granville Sports precinct.

The Council invested $11.3 million in the upgrade to ETS in 2021 as part of the Granville Park sports precinct redevelopment, providing best-in-class facilities for the Parramatta Eels women’s programs, Western Sydney Two Blues Rugby and the local community,” he added.

The facility has new dressing and locker rooms, medical facilities, a fully equipped gym, and a multi-million dollar player surface that is one of the best in Western Sydney.

Parramatta Eels CEO, Jim Sarantinos said the Club was proud to partner with Cumberland Council to assist taking the game to the local community.

The fields at the Granville Sports precinct are significant to the Parramatta Eels which saw fans line the sidelines while our men’s premiership-winning teams trained during the early 1980s, and it is wonderful that our women’s teams now have the opportunity to experience that same support on game days,” he added.

Fans attending this week’s historic NRLW match are encouraged to pre-purchase tickets and arrive early to enjoy all the activities on offer including face painting, giveaways, drawing stations, food trucks and more.
