AM SORRY: Reason why I left Tennessee volunteers…

Tennessee Volunteers defensive back Wesley Walker enters the portal after two seasons in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Tennessee has lost yet another defensive back to the transfer portal. Former Georgia Tech transfer DB and former Volunteers starting safety Wesley Walker had news break early on Friday that he would be entering the transfer portal.

Walker is a 6’1, 200-pound safety from around the Ensworth High School area in Nashville, Tennessee

. He started at safety alongside long-term starter Jaylen McCollough. McCollough is out of eligibility, and Walker is now in the transfer portal, meaning the Volunteers will now have to attempt to replace both of their starting safeties.

Although that may not seem like an issue, the Vols have had many transfers in the DB room hit the portal.

Walker had season stats that consisted of 33 solo tackles, 53 total tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble. In 2022, which was his first year with Tennessee, he totaled 36 total tackles, 23 solo tackles, one sack, and one interception.
