He may not play again: Alabama key player is in serious pain…

The Alabama football team is preparing to face Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines in the Rose Bowl, which is part of the College Football Playoff this season. The Crimson Tide defeated Georgia to win the SEC title and earned the No. 4 spot in the field as Florida State was left off.

The good news for the Crimson Tide is that running back Jase McClellan, who missed the SEC title game, is feeling much better and has a good chance at playing, per Charlie Potter of On3.

“I feel 100 percent. I’m still getting time under me,” McClellan said. “There’s still a couple more days till game time so it’s even better…It was getting used to playing with the lingering pain. I’m still working with that.”’

On Wednesday, Alabama football head coach Nick Saban also gave a huge update on McClellan’s potential availability for the Rose Bowl clash (h/t Austin Hannon of Bama Central).

“Jase is doing great. Looks good. We gave him a lot of time off to heal his foot and it looks like it paid off.”

McClellan is the leading rusher for the Alabama football team this season, totaling 803 yards and six scores. Roydell Williams took his place in the SEC title game and had 16 carries for 64 yards and a touchdown.
