SAD NEWS FROM: Detroit Lions Key Player Set To Surffer Career Ending Injury…

The Detroit Lions will have their best cornerback on the field for tonight’s game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Cam Sutton is active against the Cowboys after he was listed as questionable on the team’s weekly practice report with a toe injury.
Sutton did not practice Thursday and was considered a game day decision.
The Lions have the NFL’s 23rd ranked pass defense and have shuffled personnel at the cornerback spot opposite Sutton this year.
Kindle Vildor and Khalil Dorsey have seen most of the No. 2 cornerback reps in recent weeks, and both would have been inline to start Saturday had Sutton not been available.
Sutton has allowed a 110.1 passer rating against this year, according to Pro Football Reference, but has drawn the primary assignment on top receivers Justin Jefferson and Cortland Sutton in recent weeks.
Tight end Brock Wright (hip), linebacker Julian Okwara, receiver Antoine Green, cornerback Steven Gilmore, quarterback Hendon Hooker and defensive linemen Levi Onwuzurike and Brodric Martin are inactive for the Lions, who need to win their final two games to get at least the two seed in the NFC playoffs.
Like Gardner-Johnson, James Houston has been on injured reserve since the Seahawks game, and on Thursday, the Lions announced that they have opened his 21-day practice window.
Houston was a revelation in the second half of last season, picking up eight sacks in the team’s final seven games. If he can get back into playing shape by the end of the season, he’ll be a much-needed addition to the pass rush.
“I got to do what I got to do on my part so I can be a part of something special,” Houston said, via DetroitLions.com.
“I’m extremely excited and ready to get back on the field.”
Houston is out for Saturday’s game in Dallas, but it’s possible he could return in time to help the Lions during the postseason.
