Sad News From Las Vegas Raiders Today…

Las Vegas Raiders interim head coach Antonio Pierce is making quite the case to become the team’s next full-time head coach.

In an appearance on SportsCenter, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that Pierce has put himself in a solid position to secure the job going forward.

There are a lot of people around the league who believe he has well-positioned himself to potentially get this job full time,” Fowler said.

“Mark Davis, the owner, went though the interim coach a few years ago, Rich Bisaccia. He did well, they didn’t hire him, maybe this is the time.”

Fowler also reported that Davis was “impressed by the physicality of the team” and also how the team has stayed disciplined and played for Pierce.

Pierce assumed the interim position in November after then-head coach Josh McDaniels was fired.

He took over a Raiders team that was 3-5 and had culture issues and has led the team to a 4-3 record as it remains alive in the hunt for the postseason.

Regardless of whether or not Las Vegas cracks the playoffs, Pierce’s run as the head coach has shown what the team is capable of.

The Raiders scored 63 points against the Los Angeles Chargers, took down both New York teams with relative ease and defeated the Kansas City Chiefs for the first time since 2020.

This has earned Pierce fan support for having the interim tag removed and Davis would have an opportunity to correct the mistake he made in not hiring Bisaccia back in 2021.

Las Vegas has matchups against the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos remaining on the schedule.
