Sad News From Buffalo Bills Has A Key Player Today….
The Pittsburgh Steelers should never be counted out with Mike Tomlin leading them, but considering the situation they are in when they face the Buffalo Bills in the Wild Card round, Micah Parsons just doesn’t see them surviving on the road.
Parsons made the prediction in his The Edge podcast, with the Dallas Cowboys star explaining that the Bills have a massive advantage in the contest. Not only is TJ Watt going to be sidelined for the Steelers, but Buffalo will also be playing at home where they have been really great all season long.
“I think the Bills is trending in the right way. Just seeing TJ Watt’s out. They’re in Josh’s house, it’s gonna have to go Bills.”
As Micah Parsons highlighted, TJ Watt’s absence definitely hurts the Pittsburgh Steelers by a lot. He is their defensive anchor, and any time you lose a Defensive Player of the Year candidate, there’s just no way to replace such kind of impactful player–especially this close to the postseason.
Watt has 19.0 sacks, 48 solo tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 36 QB hits, eight passes defended and four forced fumbles. The Steelers could only fill the hole he leaves on defense by committee, and it’s going to be a challenge against a Buffalo Bills team that boast one of the best offenses in the league today.
The Josh Allen-led Bills are fourth in total offense in 2023, only behind the Miami Dolphins, San Francisco 49ers and Detroit Lions. While Allen’s penchant for throwing interceptions is concerning, he has been really good otherwise for Buffalo.
And without one of their best defenders, the Steelers might not be able to make life hard for the Bills QB.
The other problem for the Pittsburgh Steelers when they play the Buffalo Bills in the Wild Card on Sunday is that Josh Allen’s team is on a hot streak right now.
Buffalo is on a five-game winning streak entering the game, so they should be brimming with confidence in the showdown. In that streak, they even beat top teams such as the Kansas City Chiefs, Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins.
Playing at home gives the Bills an advantage as well, as they are 7-2 on the season on their turf. Meanwhile, the Steelers have been fairly average on the road with a 5-3 record.
It remains to be seen if the Steelers can prove Micah Parsons wrong, though they really have their work cut out for them.
