Cleveland browns

Unbelievable Deshaun Watson just made a statement regarding Cleveland Browns that puts the team in serious trouble…

CLEVELAND, Ohio — With Chargers offensive coordinator Kellen Moore interviewing with the Browns Friday in Berea, they’re getting closer to hiring their coordinator and would like to do it soon, but most of their five candidates are still taking interviews elsewhere — or plan to.

Of course, they can thwart some of those plans by wrapping up their choice.

One thing is for certain throughout the process: there’s no shortage of candidates who want to work with Deshaun Watson and AP NFL Coach of the Year candidate Kevin Stefanski.

The five candidates the Browns have interviewed so far to replaced Alex Van Pelt are Seahawks offensive line coach Andy Dickerson, former Bill offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey, Texans quarterbacks coach Jerrod Johnson, former Eagles offensive coordinator Brian Johnson and Moore.

Johnson, 36, interviewed with the Browns on Thursday. But most of the five are still interviewing elsewhere, or plan to:

There are several things about the Browns job that make it more attractive than some of the others.

They have a three-time Pro Bowl quarterback in Watson, who’s expected to make a full recovery from surgery to repair a fractured glenoid (socket) bone in his right throwing shoulder well in advance of training camp.

GM Andrew Berry raved about Watson in his postseason wrap-up on Monday, and expects him to have “a really big year.”

The prospect of working with a quarterback of Watson’s caliber is enticing to the candidates, and the Browns should have little trouble landing their top choice.

No one knows, of course, how the shoulder will respond, but all indications are that Watson should be like new after suffering the strained rotator cuff in Week 3 and the fracture in Week 10 that landed him on injured reserve.
