The Kentucky Wildcats are in Nashville, set to take on the Vanderbilt Commodores.

Kentucky lost both of their games on the road last week against Florida and Tennessee, so this is a get-right game for John Calipari’s Wildcats. Kentucky fans will want to see the defense look better against a Vanderbilt team who only scores 66.4 points per game. If Vanderbilt scores 80+ against the Wildcats, it would truly be time to hit the panic button on the defense.

According to Jack Pilgrim of KSR, the Wildcats will once again be without starting point guard DJ Wagner, who missed both games last week, and starting forward Tre Mitchell, who will miss his first game of the season. Wagner is fighting an ankle injury and will hopefully be back soon. Mitchell has a nagging back injury, and the hope is this isn’t a long-term issue. The mantra for this team has been to “get healthy for March.” So, if you’re a Kentucky fan, you’re hoping this is more of “veteran rest day” than anything else for Mitchell.
