The Cleveland Browns are not expected to select until the No. 54 overall choice in the 2024 NFL Draft.

The Deshaun Watson trade with the Houston Texans has left the Browns without a first-round pick. Their total number of draft picks is just five.

The Browns’ paucity of draft picks makes draft-day swaps seem unlikely, but they might be open to dealing if the second round goes their way.

A few players may fall to the second round, which might force the Browns brass to package their pick in the second round with another pick in order to advance.

Teams with many picks, such as the Washington Commanders, would be potential trade partners for Cleveland in the second round.

As of right now, Washington is expected to select between Nos. 36 and 40. There are six picks in the top 100 overall.

The Browns may attempt to wrest the Commanders’ No. 40 pick in order to acquire additional wide receiver support.

After Amari Cooper and Jerry Jeudy, Cleveland could use a third reliable pass-catcher. Jeudy was acquired in an off-season transaction.

Two wide receivers predicted to go in the second round in the most recent NFL mock draft from Bleacher Report’s NFL scouting department are Washington’s Ja’Lynn Polk and Jalen McMillan.

Cleveland might combine two of its selections, including a second-round pick, in a agreement that would probably put it ahead of every other team in need of a wide receiver.
