SAD NEWS: Bryse Wilson Has Announce His Resignation and Departure From Milwaukee Brewers Today

The Milwaukee Brewers, who suddenly have a managerial opening, are reportedly interested in former St. Louis Cardinals’ manager Mike Shildt.
The Brewers only have the opening because Craig Counsell stunned the baseball world earlier this offseason and left Milwaukee for the Chicago Cubs.
Shildt is also a serious contender for the now-vacant San Diego Padres job.
Per Bob Nightengale of USA Today:
The Milwaukee Brewers, who are strongly considering promoting bench coach Pat Murphy, also have their eyes on Mike Shildt if he’s not hired by the San Diego Padres.
Jon Morosi of MLB Network says the Padres are expected to make their decision soon, so the Brewers will know about Shildt’s availability:
Sources: Padres are expected to hire their new manager by the middle of this week. Mike Shildt, Ryan Flaherty, Benji Gil, and Phil Nevin are known to have interviewed.
Additional candidates remain under consideration, as well.
The 55-year-old Shildt spent parts of four seasons as the manager of the Cardinals.
He went 252-199 over those four years, which included the shortened 60-game COVID season. He also managed only part of the 2018 season after taking over for Mike Matheny.
He was over .500 in each portion of his tenure and went to the playoffs three times.
His only playoff series win came in the 2019 season.
