Cox had done his best to unsettle those fans right from the start after his pre-game act to sneak into the middle of a GWS training drill.

TV cameras captured Cox coming in from behind during a ball-up drill and shoving Giants assistant coach Shane Mumford out of the way as he hunted the football.

Giants players appeared clueless about what was going on, but Mumford’s death stare said it all.

Mason Cox certainly caused a stir with his pre-game antics before the Giants ran over the top of Collingwood on Saturday night.

Cox’s unlikely rivalry with the western Sydney club made the Round Zero clash a spicy season-opener and it was GWS that had the last laugh.

The Collingwood ruckman had an absolute stinker and it was enough to get the American’s army of critics up and about.
