Eintracht Frankfurt have issues in defence with Arthur Teate missing having been forced to sit out the win over Union Berlin with a muscle problem. He joins Timothy Chandler and Igor Matanovic on the sidelines, while Robin Koch is a doubt. With Nnamdi Collins suspended, Rasmus Kristensen may move into centre-back alongside Tuta, with Ansgar Knauff dropping to right-back.

Ajax recover Davy Klaassen from a ban but lose Jordan Henderson to suspension this week.

With Remko Pasveer ruled out and Matheus not included in Ajax’s Europa League squad, Jay Gorter is expected to start between the sticks.

Wout Weghorst, Owen Wijndal, Christian Rasmussen and Youri Reeger all miss out due to injury.

Brian Brobbey is a major doubt for Ajax this week but the Dutch side will give the striker every chance to prove his fitness for Thursday’s game.

Eintracht Frankfurt claimed a surprise first leg win at Ajax last week, but followed that victory with a 2-1 defeat to Union Berlin. The German side have lost their last two at home yet are unbeaten in the Europa League in front of their fans, winning three of four matches. Ajax have won eight and lost two of their last 10 matches, though both defeats did come in the Europa League. The Dutch giants face an uphill task to progress to the next round of the competition, but do come into Thursday’s game on a four-game away winning run.

Ajax will undoubtedly fancy their chances of getting among the goals this week, however it may not be enough to secure the place in the quarter-finals of the competition.
