Following one of the most prominent coaching changes in college football this offseason, former Ohio State running backs coach Tony Alford left the program to take the same role at archrival Michigan, sparking a plethora of reactions.

In the process, Ryan Day and the Buckeyes lost not just one of their assistant coaches with the longest tenure on the sidelines, but also one of their most productive and persistent recruiters.

Tom Loy, national recruiting analyst for 247Sports, told the College Football Ohio State recently fell to its fierce rival, Alford, proving that he is a force to be reckoned with on the recruiting path.

“He is a terrific recruiter and great human being,” stated Loy. “He is an absolutely amazing recruiter. Relationships are everything to him. He’s an amazing ball coach. He’s definitely hit the portal. This is something he’s doing in high school. “He was a huge, huge addition for Ohio State over the last couple of years,” Loy continued. He will perform admirably at Michigan. This is an extremely excellent hire. For the foreseeable future, he will be cooking in the rear room.”Why did you decide to travel to Michigan?
