Eagles’ anticipated depth chart after the initial round of free agency

The Eagles have made a lot of changes to their coaching staff and player roster on both sides of the football field.

Howie Roseman’s seasons are the free agent window and the NFL draft. The general manager of the Eagles is off to a great start after signing pass rusher Bryce Huff, adding versatile defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson back to the team, and signing running back Saquon Barkley to a three-year contract.

After that, Roseman upgraded the talent at backup quarterback by obtaining Kenny Pickett from the Steelers in exchange for two 2025 seventh-round selections and a 2024 third-round selection.

As the second round of free agency is about to building momentum, we’re examining a preliminary depth chart forecast for Philadelphia.

Starter: Jalen Hurts; runner-up: Kenny Pickett
Third: Tanner McKee

Hurts has managed to stay healthy quite well, but accidents do happen, and the Eagles have a solid backup in case they need to win two or three games.

Thrien Davis-Price, third
Fourth: Lew Nichols

Barkley is the best running back the Eagles have signed since DeMarco Murray, and not since Ricky Watters has a running back given the team such dual-threat potential.

While Tyrion Davis-Price is the greatest loss in Barkley’s massive free agent deal, Kenneth Gainwell is a reliable backup option.
