Players are moving around the NFL in the free agency market, and some Georgia football players are being considered for the NFL draft as a result.
This past week saw the start of NFL free agency, which has players moving around the league. In the past few days, a few former Georgia Bulldogs have even found new homes. Football teams for the upcoming season are affected by the free agency market, but so are players who plan to enter the league through this year’s NFL draft.
Teams use the NFL draft and the free agency window to acquire players to improve their squad or to address needy positions. The liberated agency window comes first, which means organizations have the opportunity to see what they can make shake there first before making their draft selections. Based on some of the pre-draft discussions that have been going on, a couple of free-agency moves might have impacted some former Georgia players’ draft stock.
The Kansas City Chiefs’ decision to sign veteran wide out Hollywood Brown was one of their more recent decisions. After signing Brown, there was speculation that the defending Super Bowl champions might try their luck at selecting a wide receiver with the final selection of the first round in the first round. As a result, two well-known players, wide receivers Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, are no longer with the Chargers.
For the previous several seasons, Williams and Allen have been the Chargers’ top two wide receivers. With both of them gone, the team may be looking for an In certain mock drafts this offseason, Georgia tight end Brock Bowers has been associated with the Chargers; yet, in other fake drafts, they may go in a different path. But it’s undeniably clear that Harbaugh and his group need a target for Herbet to throw at; Bowers and the Chargers could be the ideal combination.
