Hubert Davis Q&A with HD: “I’m really incredibly happy for the boys. Because of the work that our team has done, we are the top seed season. I’m proud of the way they’ve prepared, played, and worked hard the entire season. I really like how they’ve wanted to be a team from the beginning. It is a huge honor to be granted the chance to compete in the NCAA Tournament. Although it’s exciting to be heading into the competition, I understand how important it is to be able to play close to home. That’s why we may play in Charlotte for the first two rounds and enjoy being nearer to our supporters.”
Q: You informed the players two years ago that it doesn’t matter what seed UNC is in when they were picked as the eighth overall.
HD: “I reiterated that to them today. As the top seed, that’s fantastic, but This is the NCAA Tournament. We’ll be practicing and playing the same way we have for the past 34 games because there are 68 strong teams, so you have to show up to play, no matter your seed. We look forward to the task.”
