The Detroit Tigers have performed admirably this season for a team with a subpar record.
On Saturday afternoon, the Tigers defeated the Miami Marlins 5-0 while registering their ninth team shutout of the year.

That is the most shutouts recorded by a Detroit team in a season since 2015, when the team with Justin Verlander and David Price recorded 12 shutouts.
Still, the Tigers’ performance was in a bullpen game. Joey Wentz pitched 4.2 innings and Beau Brieske tossed two scoreless innings. Over the final two innings, three more relievers ended the game.
