Nolan Smith might sit out the upcoming campaign.

With Pat Kelsey in charge, Louisville basketball appears to be returning to its previous level. Many Cardinals are wondering if former assistant coach Nolan Smith will return to aid Kelsey as an assistant coach on the sidelines while the team’s roster and staff are being ironed out day by day.

Smith not only coached K at Duke but also won a national championship there. Smith was taken from Duke by Kenny Payne, and for the previous two years, Payne has been Smith’s coach while he was sidelined.

Clearly, things have not gone as planned because Nolan lost his job three weeks ago after Payne was sacked. While supporters have been demanding that Smith rejoin the sidelines with It appears improbable at this time, Kelsey.

In an effort to move on from the negative moments in Louisville basketball history, Kelsey is probably going to want to assemble a new staff. Although Smith stated on the Cardinal Sports Zone Podcast that he could be open to a return, there have been very few, if any, reliable rumors or chatter about his return.
