NRL REPORT: Zac Lomax has now been banned for the 2024 season today due to……

St George Illawarra Dragons captain Ben Hunt appears to have backflipped on his initial request to explore trade options and now looks to stay with his current club beyond 2025.
Last season, the 34-year-old was keen to explore a move elsewhere after the Dragons axed coach Anthony Griffin.
Hunt had expressed a desire to return home to Queensland to see out his NRL career.
New coach Shane Flanagan, who stood firm that he would not release Hunt, appears to have convinced him to stay at the club beyond his contractual obligations.
There are reports that the Dragons have begun casual discussions surrounding Hunt’s future beyond 2025, when his current contract ends.
There are suggestions he could sign a new deal with the Dragons, who he has played nearly 200 games with, that would carry him through to the 2026 season.
In 2026, Hunt will turn 36.
Flanagan addressed the media on Thursday, indicating that Hunt “wanted” to stay at the Dragons.
The uncertainty around Zac Lomax’s future will continue to rumble on after St George Illawarra confirmed he would leave the club upon the conclusion of the 2024 season.
Lomax was contracted through until 2026 at the Dragons, however it has since been agreed by both parties that these years will be terminated to allow both parties to go their separate ways.
