REPORT: Arkansas Razorbacks sign Kentucky Wildcats head coach John Calipari for four years contract….

Online rumors have recently been sparked by references to Kentucky Wildcats head coach John Calipari being mentioned in connection with athletic director Hunter Yurachek’s hunt for the Arkansas Razorbacks head coaching position. In this piece, I explore why, should Calipari choose to take the leap and become the Razorbacks’ head coach in Fayetteville, it would actually make sense for everyone involved.

Since the 2010 campaign, John Calipari has led the Kentucky Wildcats to 13 NCAA Tournament berths, one National Championship, and four Final Four appearances.

But the last time they made it to the final four was in 2015, and the last time they won a national title was in 2012, which was over ten years ago. Having said that, Calipari continues to attract players at a very high level, so while Kentucky supporters would have more expectations than only making tournaments, other schools, like Arkansas, might be content with just making appearances.

Following Eric Musselman’s resignation to become the head coach of USC earlier this week, the focus has been on Hunter Yurachek, the athletic director, to fill the vacancy for the Arkansas Razorbacks. Furthermore, according to Lance Dawe on a recent episode of LockedOn Kentucky, there are rumors circulating that Yurachek is pursuing Calipari.

Even though Dawe states that he doesn’t think this rumor is true, it’s still interesting to consider, isn’t it? Additionally, there would be the “what if” consequences for Kentucky.

Yurachek might have put himself in the firing line recently after he made some comments on the 1 Star recruits YouTube channel about a social media video post he made that upset the Razorbacks fan base, as I go into detail in my piece.
