It appears that the talented Texas native won’t have an opportunity to be pursued by the Longhorns.]

Bear Alexander, a junior defensive tackle, declared on Wednesday that he will remain with the USC Trojans, marking a turning point in his football career after he transferred from the Georgia Bulldogs after only one season and bounced through five high schools in four years.

Alexander was rumored to be considering using the NCAA transfer portal on Tuesday. This was confirmed by a story from On3, which stated that the 6’3, 313-pound player intended to use the portal when the spring transfer season opened on Monday.

Texas and Alexander were soon associated with one other because Alexander is a native of the state and has the exceptional talent to establish himself as a starter for head coach Steve Sarkisian’s squad. The Longhorns have a vacancy at defensive tackle.

However, as Alexander is still in Los Angeles, it is no longer relevant to ask if he would fit in with Austin’s culture unless he decides otherwise in the next few days.
