Just in: Golden State Warriors announced the resignation and departure of Klay Thompson today….

Shaquille O’Neal, a former NBA player, thinks Klay Thompson, a star for the Warriors, will have a huge postseason run.

This season, the Golden State Warriors have experienced some difficulties. However, now that they’ve secured a play-in position and successfully fended off the Houston Rockets, they may relax a little. With their decisive victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday, the Warriors may advance to the ninth spot in the Western Conference. On an episode of his podcast, “The Big Podcast with Shaq,” Shaquille O’Neal predicted that Warriors guard Klay Thompson would play a significant role in the postseason.

“Klay Thompson, if you can get Klay to give me two games, that’s all I need for a guy like him because everyone is going to do what they do. When a dog is cornered, it will make a pouting sounds, but when it gets tired, it will bite, Shaquille O’Neal said. And you know what I respect and know about Klay, he ain’t no punk. Thus, at the moment, they are all being killed. You’re going off the bench, huh? You really lost it. Golden State, he’s still got it; all he needs is one of those games where he feels like he’s got his elbow in and everyone is counting them out.

The Warriors will host their first round play-in match if they surpass the Lakers and secure the ninth seed. But if they hold onto the tenth spot, they will have to travel to the play-in round. The Warriors earned the No. 6 seed in the West and advanced to the playoffs by default last season.

Before losing to the Lakers in six games in the second round, they made it through a difficult seven-game series against the Sacramento Kings in the first round. Klay Thompson may have the most at stake during the playoffs this season.

Similar to the Warriors as a whole, Klay Thompson has had a hit and miss season. He started the season as the Warriors’ starting shooting guard, but because of his troubles, he was eventually benched. Thompson has most recently returned to the Warriors starting lineup for the last eight games.
