SAD NEWS: Auburn Tiger HC Is Hospitalized….

Beginning in July of 2025, Auburn’s athletic uniforms will have a new badge affixed to their chest as the school officially announced their partnership with Nike Tuesday morning.

With the two parties’ contract expiring, there had been months of conjecture about whether Auburn would fire Under Armour, but Auburn’s announcement put a stop to that. After the 2024–2025 academic year, Auburn’s current agreement with Under Armour will expire, and on September 1, 2023, Auburn will be free to negotiate with alternative clothing companies.

And based on the report on Tuesday, it appears that athletic director John Cohen was won over by Nike and its iconic swoosh branding.

Cohen stated in a release on Tuesday morning, “We are thrilled to begin this new partnership with Nike, a brand that consistently champions athletes and sport around the world.” “We are grateful for their steadfast assistance during this process.”

In his remarks, Cohen disclosed that Nike and Auburn will be signing a ten-year contract.

Cohen stated, “We think that our 10-year agreement, which starts in July 2025, will best serve our student-athletes and our university going forward and will continue to elevate Auburn.”

Regarding their negotiations with the school’s next apparel vendor, Cohen stated Auburn was in a “very, very positive place” during an appearance on The Next Round on April 2.

Cohen added that when making the decision, he and other decision-makers considered the thoughts of the Auburn athletes.

“The shoes you wear are more than just a part of your outfit. They are anatomically related, according to Cohen. We’ve received a lot of feedback from Auburn University’s stakeholders, including student-athletes, supporters, coaches, and staff. And we paid attention.

With the announcement of the upcoming collaboration with Nike, Auburn’s 18-year marriage to Under Armour comes to an end. In 2006, the two initially partnered, and in 2015, they finalized a nine-year renewal worth $78 million, which included equity in the business.

In 2015, the shares of Under Armour reached a record high. But since then, a significant shift has occurred, with the company’s value falling by around 85%.

In addition, Cohen expressed gratitude to Kevin Plank and Under Armour for their significant 18-year cooperation in building the Auburn brand and providing support to the university’s student athletes, coaches, and supporters. “We are excited for the chance to commemorate this partnership during the upcoming year.”

Up until July 2025, Auburn’s athletes will still use Under Armour clothing.

This is a story in progress and will be updated when additional information about the deal becomes available.
