Very Bad News: Pittsburgh Steelers Head Coach Angry and Announced resignation immediately today….

The Pittsburgh Steelers are re-signing former Carolina Panthers kicker Matthew Wright, bringing the 28 year old veteran back to the Steel City after spending last season with multiple.

Wright played four games for the Steelers in 2022 after Chris Boswell suffered a groin injury. His time in the NFL has been filled with multiple stops since 2020.

He’s spent time in Pittsburgh, with the Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, Kansas City Chiefs, Panthers, San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots.

The Steelers have Chris Boswell under contract, and Wright likely isn’t coming to Pittsburgh to compete for a roster spot.

He’s played 24 games, making 40 of his 47 field goals and 94.6% of his extra points. During his time in Pittsburgh, he made 12 of 14 field goals.

Realistically, this allows Pittsburgh to have two kickers on the roster during training camp, and keeps Boswell off the field during the preseason.

Wright gets an opportunity to put more training camp and preseason work on tape and both sides familiarize themselves even more with each other, just incase the Steelers need to call during the season.
