JUST IN: As Cardinals key player kiss goodbye today after….

Bidding farewell to a legendary Cardinals fan

I recently checked Twitter (which I will never call X) in the hopes of finding a few updates about UofL basketball and the transfer portal. If I may confess to having indulged in a guilty pleasure, I was also interested to know what decision Baylor Head Coach Scott Drew had made on his acceptance of the open position at the university located 70 miles east of Louisville.

There weren’t many updates on the transfer portal that I could find. I did quickly see some breaking news, though, amusing me: Scott Drew will remain in Waco. However, what I read soon after viewing the coaching search updates is what stayed with me for the remainder of the afternoon, and to be honest, till right now.

Sadly, I learned that a well-known person had died very lately, along with innumerable other Twitter users (especially UofL fans). That person was a gentleman named Jacori Mozee, and he used the Twitter handle @OyyyeeeCorito86. For most, he was just Corito.

I was shocked as soon as I opened the news. I felt ill to my stomach thereafter. And although though Corito and I had never really met, we had enough interaction over social media for me to feel as though I knew him as a distant friend.

It’s true what they say: life can be fleeting and delicate.

From what I’ve read online, Jacori seems to have been a proud parent, a genuine friend to many, and an enthusiastic University of Louisville supporter who never shied away from a good laugh.

From our more intimate conversations on Twitter, I learned that Jacori enjoyed tailgating at Louisville football games.and enjoying a meal at Indi’s Restaurant. I also discovered that he was intensely loyal through thick and thin and possessed extensive knowledge about Cardinal Athletics. His good mood and amiable demeanor played a major role in his massive social media following.
