ESPN REPORT: Aonther strong talented player sign contract deal with Arkansas Razorbacks today….
The Calipari effect is in full swing as one of the country’s brightest talents shortly arrives.
Arkansas’s FAYETTEVILLE After John Calipari was hired, former Indiana commit Liam McNeeley is considering the Razorbacks, according to Easton May.
Among the best prospects in the 2024 class is McNeeley. Based on 247sports composite rating system, he is rated as the No. 15 prospect and is a unanimous 5-star prospect.
He intends to start official trips after the EYBL’s Jordan Brand Classic on April 21, though he is not in a rush to do so. According to Paul Biancardi of ESPN, schools who have been in communication with McNeeley include Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Kansas, Michigan, and UConn, the two-time defending national champions.
In December of 2022, the Razorbacks made their first offer while former head coach Eric Musselman was still in control. Nevertheless, the 210-pound, 6-foot-7 small forward decided against using an official visit on Arkansas.
Indiana and Kansas faced off in McNeeley’s inaugural recruiting contest. On November 8, 2023, he signed a contract with the Hoosiers, and four months later, he committed.
Throughout 33 games as a senior at Montverde Academy, McNeeley averaged 13 points per game. With an average of four rebounds, three assists, and one steal each game, he is a perfect team player.
The Richardson, Texas native is highly regarded by NBA Draft Room, which ranks him among the class’s finest pure shooters.
“McNeeley possesses exceptional 3-point shooting ability and is a powerful and robust combo forward. His jumper releases smoothly and easily, and his accuracy from outside is lethal. Scores a lot of points without requiring many touches.
“He possesses excellent defensive skills and reflexes. Able to guard positions two through four in the lineup. possesses a lot of natural strength, speed, and quickness yet isn’t the most showy or bouncy athlete.”
With Musselman’s departure, the Razorbacks currently have 13 roster spots open. Seven players from the previous season, including top guards Khalif Battle and Tramon Mark, entered the transfer portal, while five players had graduated or had their eligibility expire. After three seasons at the collegiate level, former power forward Trevon Brazile made the decision to join the NBA Draft.
