ESPN REPORT: Details On Caleb Williams suspension….
Quarterbacks for the USC Trojans have been selected in the first round of recent NFL drafts rather frequently. But as history has shown, many of them have not had particularly successful NFL careers.
From every angle, it appears that Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears have a different tale.
The Bears have drafted three quarterbacks in the twenty-first century with first-round selections: Mitchell Trubisky (2017, second overall), Justin Fields (2021, 11th overall), and Rex Grossman (2003, 22nd overall). Not one met the standards.
“[T]he average Bears fan probably wishes Grossman’s tenure had never begun,” The Athletic reported. Grossman led the Bears to the Super Bowl XLI, but he didn’t perform well in the game, and his time in Chicago was marked by inconsistent play and injuries.
Because of his erratic play and the obvious fact that the Bears drafted him before Patrick Mahomes, many people believe that Trubisky is a flop.
After just three seasons, Fields was let go by the Bears for a sixth-round selection.
It goes without saying that the Bears need reliable, consistent quarterback play for a very long time.
Heisman Trophy winner Williams is widely regarded as the number one pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Williams will undoubtedly be selected first overall. According to Windy City Gridiron, there hasn’t been much of a secret regarding this situation for a while:
Caleb Williams of USC has been the anticipated number-one choice in the class of 2024 for a few years now, and nothing appears to be slowing down this momentum. He is regarded as the best quarterback currently available and the draft’s top prospect by most people.
