“I’AM LEAVING” NRL Patrick Carrigan has announced that he is leaving the Brisbane Broncos Today due to…..

The battle of Brisbane has once again been won by the Broncos, downing Wayne Bennett’s Dolphins 28-14 in front of a sold out Suncorp Stadium.

What’s more is the NRL newcomers will also be missing superstar fullback Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow in weeks to come after he suffered a hamstring injury.

Whilst chasing down Corey Oates in the 20th minute, in a play that was already called back by referee Adam Gee, Tabuai-Fidow suffered the blow.

The first half of this heavily-anticipated clash was a seesawing affair, with the first points coming after 22 minutes with veteran Jarrod Wallace charging onto a Kenny Bromwich pass.

Broncos young gun Xavier Willison scored next, pushing his way over from a standing start to see the first half finish at 6-4 in favour of Kevin Walters’ men.

While the first 40 minutes was quiet, the second was far from it with the Broncos scoring four tries within 14 minutes.

The first came from winger Corey Oates, flying onto a perfect, lofted pass from five-eighth Ezra Mam.

Fullback star Reece Walsh then got in on the action, being handed the ball by teammate Jesse Arthars in clear air before streaking away to score a 90-metre try.

The next two four-pointers came from horror Dolphins errors, with the first a Kodi Nikorima knock on that fell in the path of five of his opponents.

Jordan Riki kicked the loose ball forward for Selwyn Cobbo to scoop up and score before he also capitalised on an Anthony Milford error to cross for his second.

Dolphins young gun Jack Bostock and flyer Jamayne Isaako scores consolation tries, but in the end Bennett’s side couldn’t break their two-game losing streak against their ‘big brother’.

Anthony Milford could also be facing time on the sidelines after a late shot on Walsh was placed on report.
