In October of last year, the Division I Council approved changes to the NCAA Transfer Portal for basketball, reducing the time period from 60 consecutive days to 45 consecutive days. According to the NCAA, 61% of athletes who hit the portal did so within the first 30 days.
Three of WVU’s twelve scholarship players are officially out of eligibility – guard RaeQuan Battle and big men Akok Akok and Jesse Edwards. Forward Quinn Slazinski has the potential to apply for a waiver for a sixth season, but would also otherwise be out of eligibility.
