SAD NEWS: Auburn Tigers announced that Payton Thorne is Leaving immediately today after Facing…..

After Auburn brought in a tremendous 2024 recruiting class with receiver Cam Coleman headlining the list, Hugh Freeze and his staff are going all-in to bolster the depth chart even more.
According to On3’s Chad Simmons, Auburn is in pursuit of a talented prospect committed to another college football program.
The 6-foot-3 and 200-pound Wilson is a natural receiver in space, uses his hands to fend off bump-and-run coverage, and wins the vast majority of 50-50 balls. He is currently committed to Oregon but is showing up different campuses to check out schools in Dixie.
Next up for Auburn will be getting Wilson on campus for an unofficial visit and hopefully an official visit as well.
He is the #18 player in the nation by On3, and will be coveted by schools across the land until he signs his letter of intent. Wilson plays for Tampa (Fla.) Tech.
The first portal entry took place this morning when defensive lineman Brenton Williams entered after one year on the Plains.
From Opelika, AL, just minutes down the road from Auburn, Williams redshirted his freshman year and saw game action in two contests last season.
Back in March it was confirmed that JD Rhym was no longer part of Auburn football and would be expected to enter the transfer portal when it opened but he does not yet appear in the247 Sports Transfer Portal database.
