SAD NEWS: Christian Chigozie has been fired from the team of luton town today due to……..Read More..

2023/24 was the Hatters’ first campaign back in the promised land of the Premier League in over 30 years after a remarkable journey through the entirety of the professional EFL pyramid, securing three promotions in six seasons.

Arabs will have the chance to roar their heroes into the new season under the floodlights as an English outfit make the pilgrimage to the city of Discovery for the first time in nine years.

Berry, 31, has signed a two-year contract with the League One club and the deal includes the option of an additional 12 months.

Luton opted not to trigger an extension option in Berry’s contract, enabling him to move on a free transfer after seven years at Kenilworth Road.

Charlton’s former Luton boss Nathan Jones signed Berry for the Hatters from Cambridge United in 2017 and will be reunited with him in south London.

“Nathan told me how great the club is. When I finished up at Luton, I rang him straightaway and wanted to get it going,” Berry told Charlton’s website., external

“This Charlton team is a really good team. We just need to believe in ourselves, put in the hard work and I can see us doing something special.”

But, while Curtis continued to impress, playing for a string of clubs that included West Bromwich Albion, Aston Villa and Leicester, a full international call-up continued to elude him.

However, in October 2023, Curtis received an invitation to play for Sierra Leone, the country in which his father was born.

In 2023, he made appearances, in friendly fixtures, but the pinnacle moment of his international career so far, came this year.

On 5th June, in a World Cup Qualifier, against Djibouti, Curtis scored his first goal for his country in a 2-1 win.

In doing so Curtis set a record as the oldest player to score on his debut in a competitive tournament.

At the age of 39, Curtis had set a record and one that, probably, will never be beaten.

Who would have believed, back in the period 2003/2005, my prediction that Curtis would play competitive international football would take so long to realise!

Congratulations Curtis on a magnificent achievement.
