BREAKING NEWS FROM DALLAS COWBOYS TODAY…………..

growing speculation about potential quarterback replacements. Bleacher Report’s Maurice Moton has identified Oregon Ducks standout Bo Nix as a top candidate in the 2024 NFL draft.

Moton suggests that the Cowboys should consider targeting quarterbacks on Day 2 of the draft, particularly with picks 56 and 87. He believes that Bo Nix, who hasn’t generated much first-round buzz, could be a viable option for the team. Moton also references ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who hinted that the Cowboys may select a quarterback earlier than expected.

With CeeDee Lamb in the final year of his rookie contract, and the Philadelphia Eagles adeptly choosing to extend their 25 year old wide receiver DeVonta Smith a year early, with a three-year, $75 million contract including $51 million guaranteed, we now can analyze what a Lamb extension looks like.

its is notable that Smith entered the NFL a year after Lamb, so Smith still had two years remaining on his rookie deal. Smith will play out his current rookie deal including this season and his 5th-year option next year, before the contract officially begins. That means Smith is actually signed for at least the next 5-seasons, keeping him in Philly through the 2028 season.

Lamb is presently set to make $17.991 million on his fifth-year option in 2024. The 25 year old is scheduled to be unrestricted free agent after the 2024 season, and is now due for a HUGE payday from the Cowboys or via free agency. Given Lamb’s outstanding performance since being drafted 17th overall out of Oklahoma, it is expected that Lamb will command a larger deal than Smith just signed.

“I can’t give you … numbers right now,” Lamb said on teammate Micah Parsons’ podcast at the Super Bowl in Las Vegas. “But I’ll tell you this: [I want to be] one of the top paid receivers for sure, if not the [highest-paid receiver]. …”That’s always the goal.”
