ESPN REPORT: Another strong talented star forward Bobby Portis re-unites with Arkansas men’s basketball today….

Bobby Portis, a former forward for the University of Arkansas men’s basketball team, was announced as one of the finalists for the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award on Sunday.

This season, Portis has averaged 13.8 points and 7.4 rebounds for the Milwaukee Bucks, where he has been an outstanding player.

The other two finalists are Sacramento Kings guard Malik Monk, a graduate of Bentonville High School, and forward Naz Reid of the Minnesota Timberwolves. Monk played at Kentucky for the new Arkansas coach, John Calipari. Before the Bucks and Indiana Pacers played in the first round of the playoffs, the finals were revealed on TNT.

In the event that Portis prevails, he will become the second former Razorback to do so, after Corliss Williamson in 2002.

Little Rock native Portis had a legendary Arkansas career. His name was 2015 saw the Razorbacks win SEC Player of the Year for the first time since Williamson did so back-to-back in 1994 and 1995.
