I WILL LEAVE: my presence is no longer needed in Bears Caleb Williams announced in tears today….

Follow-Up RG III Comment on Caleb Williams Makes More Sense
Evaluation: Even though it doesn’t matter in the end, RG III seems more logical this time around while discussing Caleb Williams.

Regarding his tirade encouraging Caleb Williams to pull a “Eli Manning” and threaten not to travel to Chicago, Robert Griffin III was in full revisionist mode on Monday.

RG III attempted to explain on the Rich Eisen Show what he said in his March tirade and why he said it, but he qualified this by saying that he “clearly articlulated exactly,” meaning that he was making the point that Caleb Williams would be better off not being there because he was going to be in an unstable situation.

The amount of Bears supporters who pulled out pitchforks and torches and attacked him on social media would have been significantly lower if he had actually explained this scenario clearly. His tirade left his reasoning for proposing what he did then utterly ambiguous.

“I understand your point,” he said to Eisen, “because it infuriated a lot of Bears supporters.” However, I feel compelled to be truthful in my evaluation of the current state of affairs. In addition, based on my qualitative analysis, they should keep Matt Eberflus on longer in order to allow Caleb Williams more time with the coaching staff to really establish himself and that organization, and to accomplish Ryan Poles’ stated goal of ending the cycle.”

Quarterbacks would go through a cycle where they would learn a new offense after spending their first year with the coaching staff. It happened to Justin Fields and Mitchell Trubisky.

Had RG III only stated this, then Nobody would have given a flinch. He’s not the only one who has thought this. It’s the subject of ongoing complaints. However, he didn’t say it like this.

This is when his argument really goes wrong.

What would have happened if Williams had followed RG III’s advice and Williams had not played in Chicago? RG III was concerned that Williams was joining a bad team and would be forgotten there.

It was still planned for the Bears to select a new quarterback. When he went on his tirade, Fields had already been traded. A QB had to be selected in the draft.
