I WILL LEAVE: My presence is no longer needed in Ravens Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson announced in tears today….
As the two players aim for a Super Bowl, running back Derrick Henry, who joined the Baltimore Ravens in free agency last month, is already a huge fan of current NFL MVP Lamar Jackson.
As the two get ready to go after a Super Bowl, Derrick Henry has opened up about his first meeting with new teammate Lamar Jackson, calling his new quarterback a “cool guy.”
Previously, he played a 17-game season in 2023 with the Tennessee Titans, when he finished with 1,167 rushing yards, second only to Christian McCaffrey. He switched to free agency and signed a $16 million, two-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens.
The powerful player, known as one of the most dominant rushing backs in recent NFL history, is supporting the Ravens as they continue to improve their play after winning the AFC Championship the previous season. Henry, who played for the Tennessee Titans and had five seasons with 1,000 yards, fits in with the Ravens squad that, partly because of Jackson’s outstanding 821 yards, topped the 2023 leaderboards with the most rushing yards.
Now that Jackson and Henry are together, the Ravens appear ready to rule the upcoming season. Henry expressed his appreciation for Jackson by saying, “You can tell he’s a great leader by how everybody flocks to him.” This statement explains a lot about team dynamics. He is also quite energetic. Though I haven’t spent much time with him, he seems like a really nice guy. His body of work is quite persuasive.
Henry is fully committed to winning a Lombardi Trophy, and he feels perfectly at home with his new teammates since they have similar goals. “It’s been fun getting to know everybody, putting in the work, something I love to do,” he said with enthusiasm. I am the newcomer to the
block. I wanted to make sure that I show up, that I’m here, and that I’m committed to this company and my teammates.”
“I really want to hold that trophy up at the end of the year,” Henry continued. However, putting in the work begins now.”
