It was revealed on Tuesday that John Calipari, the men’s basketball coach of the University of Arkansas, will head over the National Association of Basketball Coaches Board of Directors during the 2024–25 season.

Calipari will serve as president until the Final Four of 2025.

As president of the NABC, Calipari will advise the board of directors strategically on advocacy matters and projects that benefit collegiate basketball and the coaching community. as stated in a press statement.

NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson stated in a statement, “John Calipari is one of basketball’s most influential leaders, and he has a passion for addressing issues that impact the sport and the coaching profession.” “Coach Calipari has been a strong voice for coaches at all levels for a long time, and I know that his service in this capacity will benefit the entire NABC membership.”

Calipari was the first vice president of the NABC last season after joining the board in 2013. He becomes the NABC president once Lipscomb Coach Lennie Acuff’s 2023–24 term ends.
