“I’AM LEAVING” Forward Jake Waterman has announced that he is leaving the West Coast Eagles due to…..

West Coast coach Adam Simpson has confirmed young star Harley Reid will return for Saturday’s clash with Essendon at Optus Stadium.

The 19-year-old was rested for the match against the Suns on the Gold Coast after “flagging” in the wake of his incredible maiden western derby performance, falling one vote short of the Glendenning-Allan medal, won by star veteran Elliott Yeo.

However, after returning to his hometown of Tongala to recuperate with family, Simpson guaranteed that Reid would return this week if all things went well.

“Early last week, we just saw some of the metrics we measure our players and their recovery by just flagging a little bit,” he told 7NEWS.

“So, we just thought the opportunity to give him a rest or manage him for a week was coming up, and we took the advantage that week.

The Hawks piled on eight goals in a blistering second term but impressed just as much with their pressure that will be crucial to trying to slow down a Sydney outfit that looks to move the ball with speed.

Sydney (5-1) had shown signs of fatigue as it limped to the bye but quickly burst back into form when putting Gold Coast to the sword.

The Swans have depth in all areas as the addition of Brodie Grundy and Taylor Adams adds to their assets at the contest, but there will be no room for complacency against the Hawks especially with a Sydney Derby to follow.

While Sydney is unchanged, Hawthorn has a big inclusion in Will Day, while Massimo D’Ambrosio (managed) and Henry Hustwaite (omitted) are both out.
