Draft Or No Draft I Am Leaving: Indiana Fever key player makes a shocking announcement today….
Caitlin Clark Changing Indiana Fever’s And The WNBA’s Popularity
INDIANAPOLIS: Caitlin Clark already knows her position in the WNBA and in the sports world. The guard for the Indiana Fever is already one of the most well-liked players in the world without having even participated in a professional game. She recently inked a rumored $28 million, eight-year endorsement contract with Nike; her brand is expanding quickly after taking over the sports news landscape for almost two months.
Clark’s visit has led to a huge demand for tickets from The Fever. The media presence after team workouts this week is nearly ten times bigger than it has been in previous seasons, and more than 6,000 people attended the team’s draft party earlier this month solely to watch the franchise select Clark. The commotion surrounding Clark and the team is enormous.
over the number of people at the draft party and the team’s increasing popularity, Clark remarked this week, “I think that just shows the excitement regarding our team.” She anticipates a sizable crowd for Friday’s preseason game between Indiana and Dallas.
The Fever are excited to host sizable attendance at their games. When Erica Wheeler, a veteran guard from Rutgers University, faced UConn in her undergraduate career, she believes that Fever events will draw some of the largest crowds she has ever seen. When NaLyssa Smith was a rookie with the Fever, she recalls performing at Indiana Farmers Coliseum in front of smaller audiences. That will appear very different now.
Not just the home crowds will be enormous. There is a significant demand for Clark and the Fever show tickets in places outside of Indiana. To accommodate roughly 6,000 extra fans, the Las Vegas Aces will play their home game versus the Fever at T-Mobile Arena rather than Michelob Ultra Arena. Indiana will be hosted by the Washington Mystics for a single game this season rather than at Entertainment & Sports Arena or Capital One Arena. With that adjustment, the overall capacity will hold 16,000 more fans.
