Ja’Marr Chase says goodbye as he comfirms this will be his last season at Cincinnati Bengals as he is going to….
Lou Anarumo is expecting big things from pick Kris Jenkins, and he’s prepared to deliver.
“Those in my country have faith in me. My only goal is to establish the validity of every single person present.
After losing DJ Reader, the Cincinnati Bengals had a desperate need for a defensive lineman at the NFL Draft.
When the Bengals selected defensive end Kris Jenkins of the Michigan Wolverines in the second round, they immediately increased their depth at that position.
The Bengals’ defensive coordinator, Lou Anarumo, spoke about Jenkins over the weekend and expressed their excitement about having him in Cincinnati.
Anarumo said, “I just like everything about his game.” He is a rough guy. Tough run defender. He has excellent football intuition. As Taylor (Zac) has already stated, he provides leadership. In addition to being a captain and, I believe, a second-team All-American, he is an all-around tough person who plays the game correctly.
He is a three-down player in our opinion. He demonstrated that in college at
a high degree. He will currently be rotated in with the other men, and we are thrilled to have him.
The Bengals’ primary priority at DT was to improve run-stopping ability. Jenkins definitely needs to improve in the pass-rushing game, but he can cover that spot.
“In that position, he faces numerous double teams inside, given his background. I believe he still has some room to grow in that area of his game, which we can assist him with, but he has shown thus far that he is a solid player in the run game, so we can kind of build on that.
Jenkins, to his credit, was explicit about
said the belief Bengals coaches and supporters have in him inspires him.
“Those in my country have faith in me. Jenkins stated, “My goal is to validate the beliefs of every individual present here,” during an interview with Jeremy Rauch of FOX 19.
Although Jenkins will have large shoes to fill in his rookie season, it’s encouraging to hear that the coaching staff believes highly of the Michigan standout.
