Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin drops a shocking media massage to Pittsburgh Steelers fans/team…..

Tyler Boyd, who is currently a free agent and meeting with other teams, was previously tried to be signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Pittsburgh Steelers, who performed well in the 2024 NFL Draft, still need to fill a few spots on their roster. In order to complete their receiving room, the Steelers may sign a free-agent wide receiver, even if they selected Roman Wilson out of Michigan in the third round. At the moment, Wilson and George Pickens are not particularly talented.

Tyler Boyd is one free-agent wide receiver who has been connected to the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason. Boyd and Pittsburgh allegedly attempted to negotiate a contract, but they were unable to reach an understanding. Boyd is still available, so the Steelers ought to continue their investigation. But according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Boyd met with the Los Angeles Chargers and is anticipated to to also have a meeting with the Tennessee Titans.

The Steelers might not be interested in Boyd’s services after selecting Wilson in the first round. Wilson can play outside, but he’ll probably spend the majority of his time in the slot. Boyd and Wilson would need to play out of position in order to get along because Boyd is mostly a slot wide receiver. Pittsburgh appears to be more keen to add an outside wide receiver.

Boyd is a free agent, so the Steelers shouldn’t fully rule him out given the lack of talent in their wide receiver room. Boyd or Wilson would probably be more effective than any wide receiver on the club right now, even if they had to play outside of their positions of preference. For instance, Tyler Boyd or Roman Wilson outside and the Van Jefferson is the second target on the outside, and the other in the slot is a stronger combination than one of them. It appears to be a moot matter, though, as Boyd is visiting with other clubs and his contract negotiations with the Steelers never really got off the ground.
