Utah Jazz land massive commitment in a monster swap with the Hornets.
The Utah Jazz have a vacancy at assistant coach
It’s always a coaching carousel in the NBA, and this is the first Jazz assistant we’ve seen move on this offseason. Skeeter has been with the Jazz since 2014-15, when he was hired by Quin Snyder, making him one of the longest-tenured coaches.
This is a nice move for Skeeter to get a chance to be the top assistant for the Charlotte Hornets. To have been with the Jazz for that long and not get the opportunity to be the top assistant, you can understand his desire to get a chance to move up in the coaching ranks. For Utah, we’ll see if this means that someone on staff gets promoted or if they look outside the organization to replace Skeeter. With an important NBA Draft coming up for the Jazz, a coaching hire focusing on the development of the young Jazz players would make a lot of sense.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Charlotte Hornets are hiring Lamar Skeeter as their top assistant.
