Former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Albert Wilson announces NFL retirement today

Former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Albert Wilson has decided to retire from the National Football League.

The news was reported by Ben Moore of 247 Sports.

Wilson signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of Georgia State in 2014.

He spent four years with the Chiefs before signing with the Miami Dolphins as a free agent in 2018 and was with the team through the 2021 season.

Wilson signed with the Vikings for the 2022 season but was released before the start of the season. HE played for the Las Vegas Raiders in 2022 but wasn’t with a team in 2023.

During his career, Wilson caught 218 passes for 2,499 yards and 12 touchdowns.

The Minnesota Vikings have taken a step toward a resolution with the Atlanta Falcons‘ alleged tampering with Kirk Cousins, according to Pioneer Press columnist Charley Walters.

In a May 12 column, Walters reported that the Vikings have “strongly appealed” the tampering charge that is expected to reach arbitration.

“There’s whispering that the Vikings have strongly appealed a Falcons tampering charge in the signing of Cousins that’s expected to end up in arbitration,” Walters wrote.

The NFL’s investigation into tampering appeared close to resolution before the draft.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported a resolution could come on draft week, but followed up the next day, reporting the investigation would not conclude before the draft.

Since the draft, it’s been radio silent from the league.
