Breaking news: Kansas city star player officially announced his retirement….

Former Wales rugby star Louis Rees-Zammit has produced an ‘amazing’ moment in training for Kansas City Chiefs.
The 23-year-old took part in his first rookie mini-camp last week, where he and the likes of fellow newbie Xavier Worthy were put through their paces alongside a number of undrafted Chiefs players hoping to make the cut for the 53-man active roster.
Footage from X, formerly Twitter, showed Rees-Zammit making catches and running lines at practice, sporting a full Chiefs kit with the number nine emblazoned on his back.
There was one significant moment in training, though that has caught the attention of US media and gave Chiefs fans a glimpse of what kind of player they could be in for.
Jesse Newell from the Kansas City Star wrote: “During Sunday’s Chiefs rookie minicamp, there was a moment when running back Louis Rees-Zammit broke free.
“Quarterback Chris Oladokun connected with him on a halfback screen, and Rees-Zammit suddenly found himself in a familiar spot, given his rugby background:
“Rees-Zammit accelerated in the middle of the field, evading tacklers more than 40 yards before whistles eventually stopped the play.
“The moment flashed — if everything goes right — the type of skill the 23-year-old former Wales professional rugby player could bring to the Chiefs one day.”
Speaking about this specific moment, the former Gloucester Rugby winger explained: “It was amazing. When there’s open fields, I feel like I’m playing rugby again.
I can use my awareness when I am in space, and that’s when I can cause the most damage. So the more I can do that, the more I can help the team.”
