Kyle Larson’s second attempt at “The Double” has sparked numerous discussions about who could attempt the Indianapolis 500 in NASCAR. Several drivers, such as Christopher Bell, Ryan Blaney, and Kyle Busch, have expressed their desire to try “The Double” under the right circumstances; however, what about some other popular drivers in NASCAR?
Bubba Wallace was one driver who was asked about the potential idea of running an Indianapolis 500 during the NASCAR All-Star Race Weekend. According to Wallace through Frontstretch, don’t expect to see him driving an IndyCar in the Indianapolis 500 anytime soon.
“I damn sure ain’t getting in [an IndyCar] on an oval,” Wallace said. “I’m good where I’m at.”
While it would be exciting to see the 23XI Racing driver attempt the Indianapolis 500, it is understandable why any driver would decline the opportunity. The Indianapolis 500 is a grueling multi-week process with speeds near 240 miles per hour. Wallace is happy watching the event from a distance and won’t be trying anytime soon.
