Jones is coming off a visit to Providence leading up to this decision. When recruiting Jones, the staff delivered the pitch that Jones will be able to get to the next level if he were to commit.
“They want me to come over there and play the two or three play as a freshman and average 16. They give me the chance to be that one and done player that I want to be and I know the work I need to do.”
The Friars success was also a major factor in Jones decision.”Kim English turned the whole program around coming from George Mason. Once they got there the whole program went up. They were a ranked team last year and I trust those guys to get me to the NBA and stay there.”
Elijah Crawford, the No. 140 overall ranked recruit in the 2024 class, has committed to BYU, a source tells 247Sports.
The 6-foot-1 point guard out of Wolfeboro (N.H.) Brewster Academy was previously committed to Stanford but reopened his recruitment and picked BYU over other schools showing interest in Kansas, Florida, Wake Forest and Louisville.
Brandon Dunson put in the work that got Crawford to Stanford in the first go-around but when Dunson went to BYU after Jerod Haase’s firing, Crawford took a visit on Monday and is following suit.
Crawford is the fourth addition to the 2024-25 roster for new head coach Kevin Young at BYU.
