Breaking news: Alex Orji has been suspended from the team of Michigan wolverine for 8months due to……Read More..

As we approach the second weekend of June, Michigan football will be hosting another plethora of top recruits on campus. The Wolverines will welcome top 100 recruits Mariyon Dye, Jordon Davison, and SJ Alofaituli. Along with those three, four star defensive lineman Jaylen Williams will be back on campus for the first time since November.
While Michigan would love to land all four recruits, they’re in pole position for Williams, and will look to secure his commitment this weekend. Williams has had a unique recruitment. Michigan has been perceived as the heavy favorite since hosting him in November. Williams even had a January commitment scheduled.
But upon the departure of Mike Elston, Williams backed off and really cooled on Michigan football. Then, Greg Scruggs took over and things appeared back on track with Williams, only for Scruggs to resign shortly after accepting the job. With Lou Esposito at the helm, there wasn’t much progress made with Williams over the next few months.
Recently, however, it appears that Esposito has made a breakthrough with Williams. The Illinois native was originally scheduled to be visiting Miami this weekend, but cancelled that visit to go to Ann Arbor. Esposito and Michigan also recently earned a commitment from fellow Illinois native Nate Marshall, which is likely playing a role in this as well.
All of this is to say that things are back on track with Williams, and Michigan fooball is more confident than ever in its position. It would surprise nobody if Williams shut down his recruitment and committed to the Wolverines over the weekend, and I’m sure the staff is going to be doing everything they can to ensure that.
